Hagerstown February 6th, 2016
by Juergen Nies
After all the rain we had this week Saturday turned out to be nice and sunny with light winds and temperature in the mid 40s. Originally we had four airplanes to participate, but two got busy with other things to do so it was Jim in his Navajo and I flew the Pacer with Dave riding with me on the way up. We had a pretty good tailwind pushing our groundspeed to 128 knots so it didn't take long to get to Hagerstown. Jim took of quite some time after us so we managed to get to HGR before him. We just had to wait a little before he taxied up to the restaurant. We enjoyed some good food and of course some hangar flying while we had lunch.

After lunch we decided to fly down to Front Royal (Dave took the opportunity to catch a ride in Jim's Navajo) to look at John Ely's almost complete RV-12. I believe this is his 5th airplane he is building and it looks as nicely build as the previous ones he did. We hope he will be done soon so he can join us for the fly-outs. Bob Metcalf was working on his Luscombe project and was showing it to a potential buyer. Soon it was time for the short flight back to Winchester. Jim took off before us and of course was out of sight very quickly.

I hope some more of you can make it the next time.
Make sure you look at the Upcoming Events schedule on this site for the next fly out.
