Our first Young Eagles Rally for the Chapter in quite a few years took place at Winchester Airport on Sunday, June second. Henry and Rose Mary Budzynski arranged for the group of 15 youngsters. It turned out to be a beautiful day but rather windy with gusts in the twenties.

Chapter turn out was great, lots of ground support and four airplanes; we even had Laura Hoover taking pictures. All the kids seem to enjoy their rides; some liked it so much they came back for seconds.

This was a good starting place to get the Chapter involved in flying Young Eagles again. I would like to see us fly kids as much as possible, but I need your help recruiting kid for future rallies if it is going to be successful. I have been working with the 4-H and home schoolers and am looking elsewhere but I could use some leads. Feel free to call me at 540 955-3870 if you have someone or a group that would like to see Winchester from 2000 ft.

I thank all the ground crew and pilots for their dedication to keep the flying spirit alive.
